BIOGRAPHY

Dr Christopher Rowe is a Consultant Endocrinologist, treating adult patients with disorders of endocrine systems including pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid and bone.

He completed his primary medical degree in Sydney, graduating with first class honours from the University of New South Wales. He completed specialist training in Endocrinology through John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, and a visiting Fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK.

Chris has a particular interest in thyroid and parathyroid disorders, seen through his current doctoral studies in thyroid cancer, and his active involvement in the Hunter New England Thyroid Cancer Multi-disciplinary team.

Chris performs his own thyroid and parathyroid ultrasounds at Newcastle Endocrinology, including ultrasound guided cytology when required. In addition to seeing patients at Newcastle Endocrinology, Chris has a Staff Specialist appointment in the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at John Hunter Hospital, and is a Lecturer at the University of Newcastle.
