WHAT IS AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST?
In medicine when a doctor specialises in diagnosing and treating conditions that are caused by, or that affect your hormones, they are called an endocrinologist. Most endocrinologists work in endocrinology and/or diabetes.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
A referral is required to obtain the maximum Medicare Reimbursement. GP referrals are generally valid for a period of 12 months; those from specialists are valid for a period of 3 months.
FEES
Payment is expected at the time of the appointment and can be made byVisa, Mastercard, EFTPOS, cash and cheque. Please refer to the "Fees" page for specific item charges.
Cancelling or Rescheduling Your Appointment
If you do need to cancel or reschedule, please notify our staff as soon as possible. It is very important that you call 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment to allow us time to offer the appointment to another patient.
Do I qualify for the Government's "Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme"?
IPTAAS is the Isolated Patients Transport and Accommodation Assistance Scheme. This is a NSW Government initiative designed to help with the financial assistance towards travel and accommodation costs when a patient needs to travel lengthy distances for specialist medical treatment that is not available locally.
